Exceptionally fine craftsmanship in the manner of George Rémond & Compagnie of Geneva, this box likely dates to the early 19th century.

Two small areas of re-touch to the black enameling on the back edge of the box, below the hinge; two shallow scratches to the pictorial enamel on the cover (the scratches are difficult to discern without raking light); minor cracks to white enamel at top right of cover.
