Circa 1840, cherry and mahogany veneer, poplar and with pine secondary, to consist of a dressing stand, two part form, upper swivel mirror supported by an acanthus carved and turned frame above two side by side beveled drawers, case with two long beveled drawers and raised on tall acanthus carved turned legs with ball feet (fair condition; needs some repair; several areas of veneer chips and loss; top surface with staining and wear; old dry surface); along with a late classical tall post carved tester bed, mahogany and cherry, four tall acanthus carved posts with ball feet, headboard with double panels surmounted by a scrolled pediment with rosettes and central plinth with acorn finial.

Stand 78.5 x 32 x 20.75 in.; Bed 84 x 63 x 81 in., interior 54 x 74 in.

By descent through the family of Elizabeth Hunt Chinn and Frank Chinn of Frankfort, KY. Family lore maintains the bed was brought up the Mississippi River by boat from New Orleans.

Fair condition; one rail with broken bolt to interior; no finials; later molding to tester; surface scratches and marring throughout; dryness to original finish.
