A Private Collection of American Contemporary Art

From Hunt's series of Waterfall sculptures comes this amazingly tactile interpretation of the stream running below Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Fallingwater house. Commissioned by Edgar Kaufmann Jr. specifically for Fallingwater, it remains on display today.

In 2011, a survey of Hunt's Waterfall sculptures was installed on Park Avenue, between 52nd through 57th Street, in New York City. That same year, the Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, NY, mounted a retrospective of his work titled "Bryan Hunt: Waterfalls, Lakes and Quarries."

Hunt has exhibited at Baldwin Gallery in Aspen, CO; Gagosian Gallery, and Mary Boone Gallery in New York, NY; Galerie Bischofberger in Zürich; Bernard Jacobsen Ltd., London; among many others. His sculptures are in the public collections of the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Art Institute of Chicago; and many more.

Good estate condition; needs support rods to stand; attractive deep almost black patina with some green verdigris towards top.
