Two Beaded Evening Gowns, Two Beaded Jackets
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The first by designer Isabelle Allard, halter top, rear ruffled flounce, labeled size 38 (halter strap with fraying); the second is a pencil gown with beaded bodice, velvet skirt, no label but likely a size 2, (hem needs re-sewing), both with back zipper. Two beaded jackets accompany the dresses and can be mixed and matched, one labeled M.

From the personal collection of the late Israeli film actress Daliah Lavi . Blessed with beauty and bursting with talent, the multi-lingual Lavi was truly an international citizen during the 1960s when she worked alongside such luminaries as Peter O'Toole, David Niven, and Woody Allen. One of her more memorable roles was in the James Bond spoof Casino Royale (1967). She also had a hugely successful career as a singer in Europe.

In her personal life Ms. Lavi enjoyed a 40-year marriage, her four children, and numerous grandchildren. She was a resident of Asheville, North Carolina at the time of her death.

Both gowns have been worn; the black and white jacket with small area of bead loss at the neckline; the colorful jacket with rust to the lining and a hole at the elbow. Bidders understand that due to age and use, vintage textiles have flaws and losses that may not be apparent.
