Caswell County, North Carolina, circa 1850, two-part form, the top features a distinctive and stylistically bold stepped cove molded and shaped cornice, above two glass cabinet doors with a ribboned edge molding, louvered shelved interior, above three small side-by-side drawers, the base with hinged fall front writing surface with ink and pen wells, above a long ogee single drawer, above two hinged cabinet doors, stiles with rounded corners, the whole raised on distinctive ogee bracket feet.

96.5 x 50 (case width 43 in.) x 20 in.

Lower left and right case sides with shrinkage splits; veneer losses throughout; as found estate condition; needs professional tune up.
