Argentine artist Liliana Porter is fascinated with the "double existence" of the objects she represents in her work. As she has done here in Diptych, she selects toys and inanimate figurines at antique stores and flea markets and re-presents them to the viewer to explore meaning. Porter's work has been exhibited in group shows at various international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American art, El Museo Tamayo, and the J. Paul Getty Museum.
