Late 19th or early 20th century, with eight panels of alternating painting and calligraphy, four watercolor paintings with added pigments on paper very finely painted nature scenes with goldfish, cranes, birds and insects, paintings and calligraphy sections are signed and have red artist's seals, fan is set in a double sided frame with glass panels on either side, comes together with fitted base for display, not examined outside of the frame.

DOA 16.75 x 23.5 in.

Purchased from an antique shop in Shanghai in 1979.

One tear to lower; clear adhesive to opposite corners of fan to mount to glass; slight yellowing of paper at edges and around wooden fan sticks; a few minor spots to the fan.
