.69 caliber, 44.75 in. round barrel, walnut stock, iron furniture throughout, the lockplate and barrel stamped "Charleville" and the letter B, a B also stamped on the barrel, the trigger guard's interior stamped with R and I, the side plate with an N, brass bayonet lug, the iron ramrod appears to be a replacement.

The French Charlevilles were extensively imported by the United States during the Revolutionary War.

Working action; only faint traces of "Charleville" on lockplate remain; metal with old patina and some light pitting throughout; chip to stock at barrel's tang; small area of wood loss and crack under lockplate; 2 in. crack to stock near muzzle; fair condition overall.
