Late 20th century, two part form, with traditional detail having the male lion's front paw resting on a reticulated ball while the female's front paw is resting on a cub, each with stone ball in mouth, on rectangular plinths, with relief carved lotus leaves, pairs of foo lions are popular throughout Asia and often are placed in front of the doorway to homes as guardians to ward off evil spirits.
