Rare Broadside Promoting an Exhibition of Siamese Twin Wax Figures

At The Union Museum of Wax Figures & Fine Arts, New York City, 1830s, illustrated with a woodcut of Chang and Eng, below which is descriptive copy reading, in part: "Two Youths, born in the Kingdom of Siam, whose bodies are, by a wonderful caprice of Nature united together as one...they seem in fact in every respect to enjoy a state of perfect happiness and contentment." Secondary wax figures in the exhibit were of Washington, Adams, Lafayette, Jackson, and Bolivar. A 19th century pencil inscription in the upper margin reads, "This paper was owned by Eleazar H Cole in 1833 the year of his death his age was 29 years." Presented behind glass in 20th century black veneer frame.
