This lot from the Cyprus Museum of Jacksonville, NC is accompanied by two documents demonstrating that the collection was acquired legally with the full knowledge of the Cypriot Government.

The first document, a one page official message dated January 1990 and signed by Cypriot President George Vassiliou, praises the North Carolina museum and endorses its cultural and historic mission.

The second document is a notarized affidavit signed by the museum's director. It declares that all of the museum's antiquities were acquired legally with the full knowledge of the Cypriot Government and that there were documented visits to the museum by Cypriot dignitaries.

Cypriot Carved Limestone Female Figure, 6th - 5th century B.C., the lady wears a conical cap, round earrings, and pleated robe; a ram rests in the crook of her left arm. Presented on a custom lucite stand retaining a Sotheby's auction sticker.
