19th century, mahogany with figured maple banded veneers, maple cartouche to lid, interior of lid with light and dark wood fan inlay with mother of pearl button to center, opens to reveal a divided interior with central well with later glass bowl, flanked by two hinged lid compartments with lead liner, the front with figured maple inlaid escutcheon, on four suppressed ball feet.
