One of North Carolina's most recognized contemporary artists, Lowry studied art and primary education at East Carolina University. She furthered her art studies with Wolf Kahn and Sidney Goodman, developing a technique and palette all her own. She has exhibited extensively throughout her career, and her paintings are included in numerous collections, including the North Carolina Museum of Art.
