Rare 1961 Green Bay Packers Team Signed World Championship Football. Near Perfect Example with Fifty Signatures.
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
From Vince Lombardi's first championship team, and essentially the beginning of the Lombardi Dynasty, we are offering this Wilson "The Duke" National Championship Football from a private collection of an employee of the Green Bay Packers. It is a near perfect example from the December 31, 1961 Championship Game between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants. The Packers dominated the game, played on their home field, and won 37-0. The signatures graded 8/10 and appear bold and legible in black ballpoint ink. A total of fifty signatures adorn the ball including Hall of Fame Inductees: Vince Lombardi, Tom Fears, Ray Nitschke, Bart Starr, Willie Davis, Forrest Gregg, Henry Jordan, Herb Adderly, Jerry Kramer, Jim Ringo, Willie Wood, Paul Hornung, and Jim Taylor.

Personal Property from the Collection of Green Bay Packers and St. Norbert College Director of Student Union and Food Services, Loren Kingsley. Mr. Kingsley was the Director of the Student Union and Food Services for nearby St. Norbert College. He and his wife were personal friends with the Lombardi's. For five weeks each year, mid-July through Labor day, Mr. Kingsley was in charge of building muscle, endurance, and speed on the players during training camp with no-holds barred protein rich diets. Saint Norberts College has served as the team base for all Packer living arrangements for 60 years running.

LOA from PSA/DNA, with grading of signatures 8/10; with plexiglass case.

Leather feels soft and supple; light scuffing on label panel; errant pen mark on one signature panel; otherwise the ball is in amazing condition.
