School of James Gheen, circa 1800, Rowan County, yellow pine secondary, top with applied molded edge, two upper side-by-side lipped drawers above three long graduated lipped drawers, all with lightwood line inlay with lunar corner, applied molding at base, raised on shaped bracket foot base with distinctive front to rear full block foot bracing.

42.5 x 38.25 x 19.5 in. Case width 36.5 in.

Top with scraping and marring; underside of top left and right side bracing with later stabilization screws; later one-inch wide spacer to backboard top to bottom; drawer runners rebuilt; top right drawer and upper long drawer with later drawer dividers; later pulls but in original holes; six small areas of lip repair.
