The first has a right angle handle, circa 1880, carved with tassels, hardwood shaft, decorative metal collar with grape vine motif (29.25 in.) (hairline to ivory extending nearly the entire handle); the second, late 19th century, is a system cane having a removable ivory handle with a type of metal tweezers, a dairy thermometer in the wood shaft, and a removable ferrule lacking a device (36.5 in.) (system contents do not appear complete).
