Each watercolor on paper and signed at lower right, presented under glass in the original period gilt composition frames with wide gilt liner, the first titled Frensham, Surrey and the second titled Nr. Haselmere.

The son of an artist, Marshall exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1867 to 1902. He also exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors and the Royal Society of British Artists. He is particularly noted for his delicate and detailed landscape paintings.
