Acrylic on board, the first, Ladin Cotn, depicts a woman in a long white dress carrying a mound of cotton, signed across the bottom, framed; (DOA 18 x 21.75 in.); the second, Kitn, painted on particle board, depicts a woman flying a kite, signed along the right side, not framed (15 x 20 in.)

Joe Jackson was an African-American born to a sharecropper family, He was dyslexic as is evidenced by his writing, and generally painted images from his childhood experiences. His creation of atmospheric backgrounds is somewhat unique.
