Two Antique Chinese Pewter Covered Vessels

Circa 1900, includes a covered jar and square covered handled vessel, the jar and cover are carved in high relief with trees filled with leaves and set with various jade colored and carnelian stones, the underside of the cover has an inscription of Chinese characters now partially rubbed away, and the square box with mystical beast head handles white hard stone possibly jade handles, on four raised carved corners, key motif borders the rim and base, one side of vessel is incised with bamboo and plum blossoms, auspicious symbols in Asian culture, the cover is square with a finial inlay with green hard stone and relief of a leaf.

Jar with with pushes to body including one large and deep toward bottom; square vessel with pushes and separation of pewter around interior of rim; one stone is cracked on finial with partial loss; both items with some discoloration to the pewter.
