Born in Russia, Sehring's family emigrated to the United States in 1949 and settled in Philadelphia, PA. In 1951 he was sent to Korea for combat, but was transferred to Combat Intelligence to draw maps and strategic overlays. During this time he honed his artistic skills drawing and painting pin-ups to boost troop moral, in addition to documenting war scenes and figures. Upon returning to the US, he finally settled in Virginia, fully committing himself to the Fine Arts. His realistic paintings are powerful in their technique and details.
