The artist has been painting at the Blowing Rock Horse Show since 2006 and credits this as one of his earlier works from that venue and completed in oils in one sitting. The show has been held at this venue since 1928 and the old barns and buildings are one of the reasons it is a favorite place to paint.

Mr. Filarsky paints en plein air at older traditional horse show venues such as Upperfille, VA, Devon, PA, and the Saratoga Racetrack in NY. He is also an accomplished landscape and portrait painter, of both animals and people.
