The first an alphabet band sampler worked in red silk on linen with pious verse to bottom register, stitched by Eleanor Robert Eagels / 1869 (DOA 13.75 x 10.75 in.) (some soiling to linen; selvedge with tack holes from early mounting; some stitching loss to border); the second worked in multi color silk on linen depicting various floral and figurative motives (SS 8 x 7 in.; DOA 15 x 13.5 in.) (with scattered holes).
