One of four daughters born to the famous watercolorist Charles E. Burchfield, Catherine Burchfield Parker developed an artistic style and following of her own. She studied at the Buffalo Art Institute and then the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri. After marrying and raising a family in Texas, Parker returned to Buffalo, New York in 1982. Her paintings are in numerous public and private collections including the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo.
