Including a coffee pot (9.75 in.), (2) teapots (9 in. and 8.75 in.), sugar bowl with cover, milk pitcher with hinged cover, and a waste bowl. Each hand-raised and featuring a bold acanthus leaf design to body beneath a tall panel with grape vine motif, each further decorated with die-rolled borders of fruits and flowers to foot and rim, each cover featuring a finely cast seated Bacchus figure, the teapot and coffee pot handles and spouts terminating in a dolphin mask, the sugar bowl featuring female masks beneath the applied handles.

A note from the consignor’s great aunt, Mary Winchester McCulloch, outlines that this was an early set designed by Samuel Kirk for the her mother, Mary Sterrett Carroll McCulloch.  


Her note further outlines that the grapevine border reportedly references the Winchester’s family crest which features a hawk holding grapes.  The “SFW” monogram likely is that of Samuel and Frances Winchester.


Since the set pre-dates Mary Sterrett Carroll McCulloch, this service was possibly originally made for Samuel and Frances Winchester and passed down through the generations.

Teapot (larger) - no condition concerns apparent

Waste Bowl - edge of body slightly bent; some minor wear to grape clusters from polishing

Coffee pot - wood insulators in poor condition and with replaced pins; minor dent to body; old solder repair to one leaf with some “muddiness” to edge of leaf; some minor wear to grape clusters from polishing

Sugar bowl - body slightly depressed on one side of foot; some wear to grape clusters from polishing; (2) leaves with solder repairs; some minor wear to die-rolled edge of cover from polishing; some minor dents to inner collar of cover

Creamer - small crease / dent to spout; (2) minor dents to foot ring

Teapot (smaller) - some denting to one side of handle; finial attached to hinged cover differently from the other pieces
