Qing dynasty (1644-1911), probably 19th century, famille verte palette with purples and yellows, very well painted with one full frontal face view dragon in imperial yellow, a symbol singularly reserved for the Emperor, all other dragons on the body of vase are depicted in profile face view and have four distinct claws with a slightly transparent fifth one added, the dragons fly through a ground of white circular waves, green waves swirl at the foot of the vase, underside is decorated with two dragons with fire scrolls encircling a space where an apocryphal Shunzhi period (1644-1661) six character mark has been scratched away.
