New York Federal Inlaid Mahogany Chest of Drawers

Circa 1810, attributed to the shop of Michael Allison, mahogany veneers, white pine and poplar secondary rectangular top with rear chair rail extension, banded veneer to edge of top, large upper drawer with distinctive central oval panel flanked by two diamond motifs, all with triple line inlaid border, above three graduated drawers all with cockbeading, the scalloped skirt with triple line inlay and central veneered drop panel, front French bracket feet.

Top reset; later pulls with plug holes; drawer runners rebuilt; drawer guides replaced; skirt center panel missing inlaid lower edge; ten-inch cut and patch to right rear foot edge; some cockbeading and cut and repairs; veneer patch to right drop of skirt.
