Attributed to the Shenandoah Valley, circa 1800-1810, two-part form, yellow pine, walnut, and white pine secondary, dovetailed removable cornice, bookcase, and desk, with broken arch scrolled pediment, applied cove molding, terminating in inlaid rosettes, tympanum with applied stylized lightwood reeding and turned finial, vertically veneered lightwood frieze, two large paneled bookcase hinged doors with center inlaid paterae within a lightwood line inlaid oval, doors with banded veneer border and quarter fan inlays, interior with twelve small divided compartments and five larger divided compartments, the desk with a hinged lipped lid with repeating paterae and quarter fan inlays, with inlaid loper supports, interior with central prospect door again with conforming paterae and fan inlays opening to reveal four drawers, set within eight small inlaid drawers above six pigeon holes with valances, four graduated cockbeaded drawers with banded and lightwood line inlay border with full dustboards, the desk with inlaid quarter columns, applied molded base raised on dovetailed shaped bracket feet.

Break and repair to right side of broken arch pediment; chip to finial under acorn; desk lid with slight warp; break and repair to left hinge area of lid; drawer runners and guides rebuilt; right front side foot facing with cut and tip; front left foot original but with hairline cracks; some later blocking and bracing; scattered veneer chips and wear.
