Ralph G. Houghton, born in 1931, was a graduate of the Worcester School of Art in Worcester, Massachusetts. A Korean War veteran, Houghton spent his professional life in several senior design posts for carpet companies in the United States. In addition to commercial design, Houghton was an avid artist in the mediums of drawing, painting, as well as master woodworking.
