Irish, circa 1770-80, circular one-board top with battens to underside, dovetailed box support, bold ring turned bulbous standard with double fluting at base, raised on tripod cabriole legs, each with a releif acanthus carved knee, beveled ankle, distinctive raised pad foot with molded relief carved front toe.

29 x 36.5 x 35.75 in.

Battens retaining period screws with offset heads; claps and screws appear original. An excellent original condition example for this form with distinctive carved elements.

Hairline shrinkage crack to top (approximately 15 inches); some scraping and marring at top; pine donut key old but may or may not be original; underside with very early iron hand-wrought brace; overall very good estate condition.
