From the collection of the late Bragg Cox, Cary, North Carolina Pottersville was established in 1810 by Dr. Abner Landrum, whose enslaved artisans turned out thousands of stoneware vessels. In its height of production, Pottersville was the origin of vessels that played a role in food preservation during the early days in the South.
