Piedmont region, early 19th century, yellow pine secondary, the dovetailed case with two-board top with applied edge trim and rear overhang, left side with two graduated lipped drawers and to the right a deep bonnet drawer, bonnet drawer has false bottom that slides out to the rear to reveal a secret compartment, above two long lipped graduated drawers, case sits within frame, the frame with applied molded edge, boldly scalloped skirt and sides, and distinctive cabriole legs on spade foot.

Two small upper left drawers with lip repair; upper left face area with staining and upper left drawer with rectangular cut and patch; engraved brass pulls, old but likely replaced, in original holes; underside to top with later medial braces; drawer runners and drawer guides rebuilt; right rear side edge with small cuts and patches and loss at bottom left corner; frame rear one-inch upper trim later; left rear foot upper leg by skirt with separation crack; interior brace blocks later.
