Constance Morton studied at the Wolverhampton School of Art and the Royal College of Art. She exhibited extensively from the 1940s through late 1960s at the Royal Academy, the Society of Women Artists, the New English Art Club, and the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

This painting in the Dutch style is completed on an antique canvas she cleaned. She used the signature "C. Nortom" so as not to be confused with her husband, also a C. Morton.
