Kirschbaum of Solingen, Prussia, knight's head maker's mark stamped on ricasso, 35.5 in. steel blade with single wide fuller; brass guard and pommel, leather-wrapped grip bound with brass wire; the scabbard affixed with a leather hanger having stamped arsenal numbers and a brass clip; leather cord stamped ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL fitted to guard.
