Meiji period (1868-1912), a mixed metal plaque mounted over fabric in circular frame,
depicting an actor dressed in a rich robe wearing a mask and a long black colored wig, from a traditional Noh play, crisp carving, gilding and differently colored patinas give interest to this art work, not examined outside of the frame.
Frame dimensions 17 5/8 in. diameter, Plaque 9 1/2 x 8 3/8 in.
Some rubbing and wear to plaque, especially in upper right area; some discoloration spots on plaque; tears, wear and staining to the fabric mount.
