The Cambridge Bibliography of English Literature calls The Gadshill Edition the "fullest 'standard' and 'authorized'" edition. (p. 437)

Tight bindings with some light age and shelf wear such as edge toning, subtle spots of discoloration, and rubbing and small chips to extremities, with vol. 38 with slightly heavier wear to boards; text blocks with expected light age wear including mostly mild toning and occasional spots of foxing, and with occasional handling wear such as light grime, wear to edges, and tears (mostly to tissue guards); a couple of small repairs; vols. 1 and 3 lacking "Gadshill Edition" leaf; overall extremely clean volumes with numerous leaves still partially unopened. A very good set.
