Caldwell & Co, New York, circa 1920s, Chinese style architectural portico in gilt bronze, agate, and lapis lazuli, richly decorated in champlevé figural enamels, pediment surmounted by a seated carved rock crystal buddha, centering a rectangular enameled dual hinged door clock case, opening to an enameled dial with Chinese figure and landscape bordered in cream with Roman hour chapters; brass cylinder movement with platform escapement signed and numbered "CHELSEA CLOCK CO. / BOSTON, U.S.A. / 171647," back plate signed "E.F. Caldwell & Co. New York," with winding key signed "Chelsea."
