The 1834 convention in Nashville was held to create a new constitution to replace the outdated Constitution of 1796. Sixty delegates met and numerous revisions were made to the state policy on suffrage, taxation, and more.

Sturdy binding with rubbing to paper, wear to extremities, minor creasing to spine, and some darkened areas along the edges; endpapers with general wear and losses, the loss of the majority of first rear endpaper, and pencil and ink writing on front endpapers; text block with age wear throughout including toning and spotting (heaviest through I3), and occasional handling wear such as a tear, small loss, or fold; the early leaves and final few leaves present the heaviest wear with areas of damp staining and wear at inner margin; a minor pinhole is present on all leaves at the inner margin, likely related to the binding process. Good condition.
