Michael Strang studied at Camberwell College of Arts and Wimbledon College of Arts. Strang worked primarily with oils and was well known for his impressionistic landscapes and garden scenes. In 1995, his plein air seascapes of Porthmeor beach were included in the Tate’s Century of Images exhibition. His work has since been included in many prestigious collections, including The Royal Academy and Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum.
