In our live auction of a Single Owner Collection on Friday, December 6th, fine art collectors will have an unprecedented opportunity to own the original work of one of our country’s most beloved, most definitively American artists. The highlight of the collection is 13 works by Andrew Wyeth, to be offered without reserve. The pieces by Wyeth include a number of pencil studies and water colors, most from his secret “Helga” series, as well as the tempera painting “Breakup,” to be sold with a bronze life cast of the artist’s hands.

In addition to the Wyeth works, the collection includes five very rare etchings by Rembrandt, all in remarkable condition. Also to be offered is a selection of fine ecclesiastical and decorative objects from England and the continent, dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The collection numbers more than two hundred lots in total.

The auction will be preceded on Wednesday, December 4th, at 7:00pm, by a lecture by Victoria Browning Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth's only grandchild, on the work of her grandfather. The lecture will be held at the Leland Little Auctions gallery, and will be free of charge and open to all.
