September's Asian Decorative Arts online auction features some rare treasures from a single owner collection of Chinese ceramics from the Song and Ming dynasties and blue and white and celadon ceramics from Thailand and Vietnam. Other highlights in this sale include some stunning woodblock prints from the Edo period, Meiji period, and Shin-hanga from mid-century, including a rare caricature print by Utamaro. Chinese painting is represented by a playful painting of crabs in the style of Qi Bashi and some refined Chinese landscape paintings in hanging scroll and album page formats. An impressive Indian Pichhavai depicting the Annakut brings color and energy to the sale while the miniature court paintings illustrate the quiet elegance of classic Indian painting.
