Weatherby's confirmed the lineage of Carabine and that "he was owned in 1902 by Mr. J. Collins and raced in his colours of Pink Cap, and Brown Shirt." Carabine won seven races between 1900 and 1902, including the Chester Cup, before being sent to India in 1903.
