The first a late 19th century English endoscope with a maker's plate reading "Dr. Cruise's Endoscope Manufactured by John Weiss & Son London," mahogany case with view portal, burner and three instruments (13.25 in.) (damage to the eye rest); a small "Ultralens Microscope" in box, circa 1920s, with original papers from the Scientific Apparatus Corp. of Milton, PA (4 in.) (some light rusting); a boxed Haden-Hausser Hemoglobinometer Clinical Model, circa 1930s, appears to be of bakelite. (2.25 x 4.5 in.).

Estate of the Late Dorothy G. Hale & Co., Chicago, IL and by descent.

Sir Francis Richard Cruise, an Irishman, is credited with inventing the endoscope and is here honored on the maker's brass plate.
