Both Meiji period; the first of tripod form with mythical creature masks and loop handles, each side finely inlaid in gold, silver and shakudo and carved in low relief with birds hovering amidst the foliage, the pierced cover topped by a finely cast mythical beast, unsigned (13 in.) (the finial detached and re-glued); the second of globular form with wire inlay of foliage and a bird, the pierced cover with integral Buddhist lion, unsigned (5.25 in.).
