Japanese Triptychs by Utagawa Kuniyoshi and Utagawa Yoshitora

Edo period, woodblock prints with ink and color on paper; first triptych by Utagawa Kuniyoshi (Japanese, 1797-1861) entitled "Soga kyodai chichi no ada-uchi no dozu" (The Soga brothers' revenge for their father), circa 1851, all three prints framed together under glass (DOA 21 x 35.5 in.) (Impression is very good but in fair condition with significant fading and some loss of color to the paper in the lower bottom portion of each print; the white curtain at top portion has some rubbing to the paper.); second triptych by Utagawa Yoshitora (Japanese, 1836 - 1880) of a battle scene, circa 1861, all three prints framed together under glass (DOA 20.75 x 35.5 in.) (Impression is very good; color has fading slightly and some minor loss rubbing to the paper on the corner of the first print and the third print; the third print has loss in form of small hole to the right of Yoshitora's signature on the lower right hand side of the third print.).
