Late 18th-early 19th century, decorated overall with black and gold lacquer, central scene on top is the Mid-Autumn Festival and the sides are decorated with auspicious Asian motifs of bats, ruyi, gourds, deer, phoenix and dragons among clouds, box sits on four claw feet, two side metal handles, the top inside section pulls out and there is a bottom drawer.

Good condition with some wear and cracking to lacquer on the sides of the box lid; loss and rubbing to the gilding revealing the red lacquer beneath; some loss to the interior lacquer sections.
