Massachusetts Chippendale Tiger Maple Inlaid Slant Front Desk

Late 18th century, white pine secondary, having a lipped hinged fall front lid with breadboard ends and loper supports, the interior with seven drawers, six pigeon holes with shaped valances, central prospect door, four flush mounted graduated drawers, a cockbeaded surround is applied to the case, molded base raised on ogee bracket feet; light and dark wood stylized inlay to fall board, stiles and horizontal drawer dividers.

Replaced pulls; repair to hinge area at fall lid; ogee tiger maple feet appear old and possibly original, however they have been off and re-set with later screws and glue blocks; cut and repair at rear of the bottom board towards the back left.
