All hand-colored etchings; the first: Thomas Rowlandson (Br., 1756-1827) after George Moutard Woodward (Br., 1760-1809), Borders for Rooms (1799), this series of grotesques was intended to be cut into horizontal strips and used as decorative borders in a room; the second: George Moutard Woodward (Br., 1760-1809), Mistaken Abilities (1800); the third: Isaac Cruikshank (Scottish, 1756-1811), "Dog Tax Gatherers in Search of Puppies" (1796) from Woodward's Humourous Illustrations. Though not authenticated as artist signatures, the second and third prints bear pencil inscriptions at lower right that appear to read "Rowlandson, sculp." All presented in matching wooden frames.

Toning, foxing, and some cockling throughout; the first examined out of frame to reveal a portion of left border glued to paper backing, otherwise loose; tear at lower left corner of the second.
