19th century, northern elm wood, rare four-section design, the top is made of two equal-sized wood pieces that insert horizontally into the two side towers, the two side towers are identical with two small drawers with differing hardware, the bottom of the towers has a grid like open lattice design, this style desk is sometimes referred to as a "doctor's desk."
