18th century or earlier, Sanskrit or Newari writing on the back of base, the two figures are shown in a sexual embrace, the male figure holding a thunderbolt bell and the female is wrapped around him holding a skull cup on one hand and a chopper in the other, the sculpture comes in two pieces, statue and base, that fit together.

H: 5.5 in.

Given to Stewart Edwards by the Royal family of Nepal for his service and friendship in the late 1950s.

Good condition with some rubbing and wear appropriate for age.
