American, circa 1860s, probably by S. S. White, to include (24) instruments with dolphin-form handles studded with rhinestones and faux ruby eyes, a conforming pair of scissors, an instrument with a rattlesnake handle and a large hand mirror having a pierced back elaborately carved with dolphins, lampreys and birds exposing copper-toned foil. All housed in a glass-topped lidded case having red velvet lining.
